Convention Data Services (CDS) is excited to announce strategic changes to its national sales organization effective immediately. CDS is increasing its sales presence in two of the major tradeshow association markets: Chicago and Washington, D.C. These changes are designed to capitalize on the company’s strong sales momentum and grow the organization in key markets.

David Lawton has been promoted to chief sales officer. Previously, he was executive vice president of sales at CDS and has nearly 20 years of sales leadership experience in the tradeshow industry. Lawton has a proven track record of leading teams and delivering results. His acute understanding of market demands and dedication to customer service will enable him to foster long-term client relationships.

Mike Dickinson joins CDS as an account executive and is opening the Washington, D.C. office where he is very active in industry events. He will be responsible for developing key relationships with many of CDS’ strategic accounts and will leverage his 20 years of industry experience and marketing expertise to support and grow the market.

Amanda Gustafson has been promoted to account executive and is opening the Chicago office. In her previous role as an on site services manager, Amanda was very successful in creating outstanding relationships with clients, executing onsite strategies and meeting client objectives. She brings significant energy and a proactive approach to client management.

“Increasing our local sales presence in two major tradeshow association markets is an important component of our strategic plan,” says John Kimball, president and CEO at CDS. “David has been successfully demonstrating his passion and commitment to making CDS a market driving organization for almost 20 years.”

“CDS has an exceptional sales team as demonstrated by our performance this year,” says Lawton. “We are thrilled to promote Amanda and hire Mike and are extremely confident in their abilities to partner with clients and produce outstanding events. Both offer unique experiences and perspectives and are focused on providing consultative services and finding solutions to the challenges faced by show managers today.”
