Industry veteran, Karen May of CSI etc. Expositions, Trade Shows and Conferences was recently honored with the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Arizona Chapter Lifetime Achievement Award.
HSMAI is a global organization of sales and marketing professionals representing all segments of the hospitality industry. With a strong focus on education, HSMAI has become the industry champion in identifying and communicating trends in the hospitality industry while operating as a leading voice for both hospitality and sales and marketing management disciplines.
Founded in 1927, HSMAI is an individual membership organization comprised of nearly 7,000 members from 35 countries and chapters. HSMAI’s Americas Region, headquartered in McLean, VA, consists of 38 chapters in three countries.
May is currently VP of sales and marketing for CSI etc Expositions, Tradeshows and Conferences in Phoenix, Arizona. Over the last 25 years, Karen has excelled in meeting and event planning, tradeshow management, incentive travel and destination management. She has operated numerous local and international programs, ranging from 10 to 100,000 attendees, and worked for such clients as GE Finance, IBM, the NFL, the NBA, Accenture and Baxter Healthcare.
In past years, May produced million dollar tradeshows and special events while working at GES Exposition Services. She often traveled with clients to operate and produce their annual meetings and events from New York to Mexico. Karen began her career working for Marriott, Hilton and Starwood Hotels.
