Hargrove, a tradeshow, event and custom exhibit company in the U.S., has announced it is in the final stages of preplanning and décor fabrication for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication week of events scheduled August 24-28, 2011.
Hargrove has been tasked with providing a wide range of services for the celebration, including: design, décor, graphics, tenting, signage, staging, press risers, tech risers, equipment (chairs, tenting, rope/stanchion, bike barricades, generators), tradeshow services, trash removal, project and production management, installation and dismantle services.
“Hargrove has been part of many historical events, but this is definitely one of the most significant,” said Tim McGill, CEO of Hargrove. “We’re honored to support the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation Inc. and work so closely with the prestigious companies involved with the planning including Susan Davis International and GEP.”
The Hargrove team will be the general services contractor for eight primary events:
- Honoring Global Leaders for Peace International Salute Dinner, National Building Museum, August 24
- Civil Rights Pioneers Luncheon, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, August 25
- Partners in the Dream Public Expo, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, August 25-28
- The Message in the Music, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, August 25
- Women Who Dare to Dream Luncheon, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, August 26
- Dream Keepers Youth Forum/Luncheon, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, August 27
- The Celebration Dream Gala, August 27
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication and Concert, August 28
For the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication events, Hargrove has designed event environments that pay tribute to Dr. King and the civil rights movement. Given Hargrove’s extensive experience with the venues selected for the week, Hargrove has also created décor and staging elements appropriate for the large venue spaces and significant attendance expected. A bold and expressive palette has been utilized and messages of hope and justice are included in the staging decor.
