Hargrove, a U.S.-based event company, announced that it has now served as the general contractor and decorator for 25 consecutive years of the annual Leukemia Ball, each year of the Ball’s history. The 2012 Leukemia Ball was held March 31, 2012 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The band Foreigner and comedian Sinbad entertained approximately 2,000 guests.
Since 1988, the annual Leukemia Ball, the largest non-political black tie in Washington, D.C., has raised more than $45 million for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).
The Ball’s overwhelming success is due to an event strategy put in place by an accomplished executive committee and event team, which includes Hargrove as the general contractor. The team brings together a well-crafted messaging platform, A-list entertainment and a décor program that translated the annual message into a three-dimensional event environment. The result proves to be a huge draw annually for both attendees and corporate sponsors.
“I’ve been personally involved with the Ball for each of its 25 years, and it’s been exciting to not only watch the event grow but be part of the team responsible for bringing each year’s theme to life,” said Carla Hargrove McGill, COO and president, Hargrove. “I congratulate the wonderful work of the entire team and committee.”
