Industry to discuss in-house tradeshow services

Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks, will be a featured speaker at the Midyear Meeting of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) being held in Washington D.C., May 31 through June 1.

In addition to Haley, the panel will include David Causton, general manager of McCormick Place; David Audrain, president and CEO of Clarion Events North America; Aaron Bludworth chief operation officer of Fern Exposition and Event Services; Glenda Brungardt, tradeshow event manager for Hewlett-Packard Company and Rick Simon, CEO and president of United Services Companies.

The panel will be discussing the evolving business practice of offering in-house services at convention centers and hotels. The session will look at the objectives of offering in-house exclusive services as well as the impact on event organizers, exhibitors and suppliers.

The panel will be held on Friday, June 1 at 8:45 a.m., and will be moderated by Steven Hacker, president of IAEE.

Champion Logistics Group launches new website

Champion Logistics Group, a provider of tradeshow transportation and third-party logistic services, announced the launch of its new corporate website, www.championlogisticsgroup.com.

The new site will offer streamlined ordering, quoting and tracking features, Live Chat with a Champion representative, social media links and tradeshow information.

“Because of the creative markets Champion services, we thought it necessary to live up to the expectations of our customers; both functionally and aesthetically,” said C.J. Berg, director of sales and marketing for Champion. “Our new site allows Champion to specifically market to the niche industries we service.”

To provide the increased visibility to client data, Champion has partnered with Oracle to implement and upgrade its transportation management and intelligence systems.

“Oracle equips our organization with the increased control, streamlining, and visibility to transportation data, which provides our clients and partners a clear view into logistics events and yields more meaningful information,” explained Jeff Wolniakowski, director of IT for Champion.

Hill & Partners brings MYAT Inc. to NAB

Hill & Partners Inc., a full-service team of branded environment specialists partnered with MYAT Inc. to create a custom turnkey exhibit for National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2012, held April 14-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Hill & Partners brought MYAT, Inc. to this year’s NAB in a new 20-by-20 customized rental property that successfully called attention to the company’s brand and offerings.

“We’re delighted to have brought MYAT to NAB again this year and are confident that we met our goal of designing and managing an inviting and attractive booth that captured the attention of the large crowds attending this influential tradeshow,” said Michael McMahon, president and CEO of Hill & Partners.

An overhead canopy topped by a 3D header reading “New Challenges, New Solutions” extended between two 16-foot high towers; a rear tower featured MYAT company logos and product displays, while a side tower doubled as a storage space and a display element for the MYAT logo and product images.

A large meeting area accented by a frosted plexi panel offered visitors room to meet with company representatives. A large TV monitor behind the reception area gave attendees the opportunity to view the MYAT product line in a comfortable setting.

American Physician Assistants to hold first international conference

The Metro Toronto Convention Center (MTCC) will host the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) 40th Annual Conference from May 26-31. Known as IMPACT 2012, the event will attract 4,000 physician assistants from the U.S., as well as their Canadian counterparts.

“The AAPA has selected a world-class city with Toronto and the MTCC as their first-ever international venue for IMPACT,” said Barry Smith, president & CEO of the MTCC. “Attendees will have access to the amazing amenities our diverse city has to offer, and their participation in IMPACT 2012 will benefit our local economy with $10,000,000 million in visitor spending.”

IMPACT 2012 is the world’s largest physician assistant conference of its kind, at which attendees develop and enhance their knowledge and skills to improve patient care.

“We believe it is a good thing for U.S. and Canadian physician assistants to share ideas and look at healthcare challenges from different perspectives,” said Robert Wooten, PA-C, AAPA president. “Hosting IMPACT 2012 in Toronto provides an opportunity for Canadian physician assistants to meet and share ideas with their American counterparts.”

Cyclonix celebrates its sixth anniversary

Cyclonix Inc., a dynamic brand engagement agency, recently celebrated its sixth anniversary and its best first quarter ever. Warren Lopez, vice president of Cyclonix, shared the news at the company’s annual team dinner and awards ceremony.

“Thanks to the hard work of our team, we are busy and we are growing,” said Lopez.

In addition, Cyclonix named Julie Budde and Adam Lopez its Employees of the Year.

Greg Bailey also won the Murphy Award for symbolizing the spirit of Cyclonix and Billy Flick was named rookie of the year.

“Our people are great, that’s really all there is to it,” said Lopez. “It’s their dedication that has driven our success.”
