Snapshots of convention centers in the Northeast

The New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center (NJCEC), located in Edison, NJ, holds over 150,000 square feet of exhibit space. This doesn’t include the extra 14,500 square feet of multi-purpose meeting space that is connected to the main exhibit floor.


The Exhibit Hall can be divided into several different sizes and is able to hold 700 10-by-10 booths or 7,500 people.

Among the amenities at NJCEC are in-house catering and dining options that range from small snacks to Black Tie Gala events. The Center also offers two fully equipped offices for show producers, and all mechanical services (electrical, water, etc.) are provided in-house.

Chase Center on the Riverfront – Wilmington, Del.
cc-chase-centerThe Chase Center on the Riverfront is located in Wilmington, Del., and offers over 30,000 square feet of exhibit space. Overall, however, the venue offers 87,000 square feet of flexible space, including ten meeting/break out rooms and a large auditorium.

Along with the large exhibit space, the Chase Center also offers two large ballrooms, which can accommodate up to 850 attendees.

Among the amenities at the Chase Center are state-of-the-art AV equipment, as well as production support services and on-hand technicians. High-speed Internet access and customizable cuisine options are also available.

Champlain Valley Exposition Center – Essex Junction, Vt.
cc-champlain-valleyThe Champlain Valley Exposition Center, located in Essex Junction, Vt., is a large multi-purpose, event-hosting facility. The Center offers Northern New England the ability to hold both large and small indoor and outdoor events.

Over 80,000 square feet of exhibit space is available at the Center, which is flexible to meet the requirements of a consumer trade show. The Center also boasts banquet capabilities for up to 2,000 guests, as well as nine meeting rooms and wireless Internet access.

DCU Arena – Worchester, Mass.
The DCU Arena in Worchester, Mass., opened its doors in September 1982 and is currently managed by SMG.
The facility offers over 58,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space and is capable of hosting large trade shows as well as small, intimate meetings.

The DCU Arena is also equipped with two ballrooms, 11 meeting rooms and two lounges. The facility also provides full in-house catering options as well as an in-house marketing department and a wide range of communication and utility services.

Rhode Island Convention Center – Providence, RI
cc-rhodeislandThe Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) is located in the heart of downtown Providence, RI. It’s connected to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, creating the Rhode Island Convention Center and Entertainment Complex.

The RICC offers a 100,000-square-foot exhibit hall, as well as a 20,000-square-foot ballroom and 23 meeting rooms. The facility also boasts 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.

The Center is connected to the Westin Providence Hotel, offering 565 rooms for tradeshow and convention guests. Among the other amenities are complete wireless internet and on-site AV services.
