Baltimore selected to host Expo! Expo! in 2015

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has announced that, after a thorough selection process, Baltimore, Md., will be the host city for Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting and Exhibition to be held Dec. 8-10, 2015.

The annual meeting will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center. IAEE’s Annual Meeting is the single, face-to-face event that offers a wealth of education sessions and networking opportunities designed specifically for exhibitions and events industry professionals.

“We are very pleased to be holding our annual event in Baltimore in 2015,” said David DuBois, president and CEO, IAEE. “We have previously held both our CEM Learning Programs and Midyear Meeting in this wonderful city and decided to bring the annual meeting here for the first time. One of the main objectives our members have when attending the annual meeting is to visit potential sites for their own events, and we are excited to partner with Visit Baltimore to showcase this exciting city.”

Generally, IAEE’s selection process begins three to four years prior to the event, and proposals are requested from visitor/convention bureaus. The submissions are based on the following criteria: general appeal of venue, management of the sales process, center and housing package, access to air transportation, and level of support toward IAEE’s commitment to its constituents. Cities that meet the criteria are extensively reviewed by the IAEE board of directors and staff, and then the selected city is announced.

Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting and Exhibition gives exhibitions and events industry professionals the opportunity to come face-to-face with decision makers in a unique environment where industry leaders meet with their peers to learn how to increase the profit potential of their organizations’ exhibitions and events.

“We could not be more pleased to welcome IAEE in 2015 to introduce a new and unique Baltimore and display new amenities such as a world-class exhibition facility that embraces environmental sustainability, hundreds of fine-dining options and a wide variety of entertainment venues near the Baltimore Convention Center,” said Tom Noonan, president and CEO, Visit Baltimore. “Additionally, the BWI Marshall Airport offers convenient and frequent air connections across the world. Attendees will experience a completely new and different Baltimore.”
