NürnbergMesse, one of the 20 largest exhibition companies in the world and among the top ten in Europe, recently named a new director of exhibitions for several of its shows.
Effective immediately, Thomas Preutenborbeck, is the new director of exhibitions for the IWA & Outdoor Classics show, Enforce Tac, Evenord and the Perimeter Protection exhibitions.
Preutenborbeck succeeds Gabriele Hannwacker, who will retire in autumn 2013 after 35 years.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Thomas Preutenborbeck, as we have gained a successor who has already been actively committed to our company and exhibitions for almost 15 years,” said Dr. Roland Fleck, managing director of NürnbergMesse. “Peter Ottmann (managing director and CEO, NürnbergMesse) and I regard his career, from trainee to director of exhibitions, as a perfect example of successful personnel development at NürnbergMesse.”
Thomas Preutenborbeck studied business management after completing his training at NürnbergMesse GmbH. He has been involved in the organization and further development of IWA & Outdoor Classics for entire career at NürnbergMesse. He also played a decisive role in developing Enforce Tac, which has taken place parallel to IWA since 2012.
“This makes it all the nicer for me to now continue as director responsible for these two exhibitions,” said Preutenborbeck. “I have felt very closely associated with the IWA sector for many years and am looking forward to jointly shaping a successful future.”
At the age of 40, IWA & Outdoor Classics is the oldest owned event at NürnbergMesse. More than 1,200 exhibitors and 36,000 trade visitors from all over the world meet at the exhibition in Nürnberg every year in March. The exhibition focuses mainly on hunting and sporting guns, outdoor articles and security equipment.
