Officials for Global Experience Specialists (GES) have announced global business-to-business events-organizer UBM Live has awarded the GES Global Network an extensive portfolio of shows scheduled to be held in 17 venues located in six nations over the next two years. To help facilitate the new contract, GES has opened a new facility in Amsterdam to provide services.
“This win does imply a potential need to increase resources in our European offices that will be servicing the shows, particularly our new office in Amsterdam, which is focused on producing exhibitions, conferences, congresses and corporate events,” said Jason Popp, executive vice president of international, GES.
The two-year agreement began in January and includes 30 shows in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. GES will provide a variety of services including the delivery of shell scheme, electrical, furniture and carpet. The portfolio is comprised of leading industry shows, such as CPhI Worldwide – including ICSE, PMEC and Innopack; Protection & Management Series – including IFSEC, Facilities Show, Safety & Health Expo and Firex; and MEDTEC Europe, Ecobuild and Fi Europe.
Prior success conducting events in Europe helped GES land the 30-show deal with UBM Live.
“UBM Live events receive a consistent level of quality services from GES across Europe,” said Simon Foster, CEO, UBM Live. “GES has a proven track record in servicing UBM Live shows and our exhibitors to a very high level with its innovative exhibitor support programs. We are pleased to partner with GES as they drive service with an ethos of continuous improvement.”
Securing the exclusive agreement for the UBM Live portfolio in the U.K. and for particular shows in mainland Europe is consistent with GES’ global strategy to serve show organizers, exhibitors, congress organizers and venues with a consistent level of service wherever they may choose to take their business, worldwide.
“This announcement and the several recent other announcements all support our strategy of developing global relationships with key organizers and then servicing them from our local locations,” said Popp. “Our Middle East business saw excellent growth in 2012 as did our operations in Germany and the U.K.”
