Officials at the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB) named a new director of sales.
Keith Kirsten joined DMCVB, which regionally, nationally and internationally promotes metro Detroit as a convention, business meeting and tourism destination.
Guiding the DMCVB’s sales effort to achieve new heights in convention and group business while maintaining and growing its relationship with all partner hotels, venues and attractions are Kirsten’s responsibilities as well as overseeing a 17-person sales team.
He brings more than 25 years of sales experience, producing multi-million dollar revenue in highly competitive markets.
Previously, Kirsten worked as director of sales at the Rio Mar Beach Resort, where he oversaw the daily sales operations of eight managers and four assistants. Kirsten also served as assistant director of sales at the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority and has held several senior-level positions with Marriott International. He holds a bachelor of arts from Ashland College in Ohio.
