NPE’s Academic Program Now Redesigned to Aid Advancement Within the Plastics Industry

Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center will host NPE2024: The Plastics Show on May 6-10, 2024. NPE, originally the National Plastics Exposition, is the largest plastics tradeshow in the Americas. Starting in 1946, the now every three year event educates attendees on the plastics industry. NPE2024 will focus on workforce development, circularity and artificial intelligence, and much more.

With NPE2024: The Plastics Show, The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), has designed a program to help businesses tackle various challenges of the industry, with opportunities to learn from plastics experts around the world. Says PLASTICS President and CEO Matt Seaholm, “With more than 100 sessions total and 60 industry speakers present at NPE, attendees will learn about the future of plastics, the important part they play in our evolving industry and how plastics contribute to our daily lives and our circular economy.”

Expo pass registration will grant access to 75 plus education sessions in the new Spark Stages on the showfloor. The three stages will showcase Bottling – technologies for beverage and non-food segments of the industry, Innovation – technologies for electrification, thermoplastics, UV blocking, and other topics, and Sustainability – highlighting improvements in efficiency, reducing materials loss, lowering power usage, and more.

The three Spark Stages are as follows:

  • Bottling Stage: Attendees will discover advancements in technologies for the beverage and non-food segments.
  • Innovation Stage, sponsored by the Plastics Hall of Fame: Participants will witness the latest in electrification, Industry 4.0, thermoplastic alchemy, UV blockers, engineered thermoplastics and other exciting topics.
  • Sustainability Stage: Explore how the entire plastics supply chain is developing solutions to improve efficiency, reduce materials loss, use less power and more.

Outside the show floor will feature speakers in the automotive, building and construction, consumer goods, and medical and packaging industries. Updates from all market segments, economic impacts and market trends, and a look at the future of recycling will accompany a review of the Global Plastics Treaty.

For these off-floor sessions, an Expo Plus registration is required, while Expo Premier gives attendees complete access to industry insights and on-demand post-show recordings.

Says Arlene Davis, Director of NPE Content and Experience at PLASTICS. “NPE2024 is more than an opportunity to discover the latest products and services. It is a show that brings the whole plastics ecosystem together to innovate, collaborate and share findings that will shape the future of our global industry for years to come.”
