The Exhibition Services and Contractors Association (ESCA) is proud to announce that Chuck Grouzard, a veteran leader in the exhibitions industry, has been awarded the prestigious ESCA Lifetime Achievement Award. This honor recognizes individuals who have made profound contributions to the exhibition industry through sustained dedication and remarkable achievements.

Chuck has been an instrumental figure within ESCA for decades, serving multiple terms on the Board of Directors, including two terms as President. His leadership has been characterized by innovative initiatives that have significantly enhanced the association and the industry at large. Notably, he was pivotal in launching the ESCA silent auction, which supports both local charities and the ESCA scholarship fund.

As chair of the SEC program committee, Chuck played a key role in enhancing the speaker lineup and elevating program content. He launched ESCA’s first fun run, creating a new avenue for engagement among members. His vision also led to the establishment of the labor council and the development of “behind the scenes workshops,” which have been co-branded and presented to universities alongside EDPA.

With 36 years of experience at GES, Chuck leads the North America exhibitions business development team and has been instrumental in launching the account associate program, mentoring young professionals, and creating extensive training opportunities. His commitment to nurturing the next generation of industry leaders is evident in the successes of his mentees.

In addition to his role at GES, Chuck serves as the Chair for Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) and is the 2024 Chair Elect for International Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), Chuck will assume the chairman role for 2025 at the 2024 IAEE Expo Expo annual meeting in LA. He frequently speaks at industry events, and has created valuable connections through webinars that featured key industry organizations such as ESCA, EIC, and IAEE during the pandemic.

“Chuck embodies the spirit of excellence that this award represents,” said Julie Kagy, ESCA’s Executive Director. “His unwavering commitment to the industry, coupled with his innovative leadership, has made a lasting impact on ESCA and the broader exhibitions community. We are thrilled to honor him with this recognition.”

“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive the ESCA Lifetime Achievement Award. It is a recognition that I never expected, but one that I will cherish forever. The award is not just a reflection of my efforts, but of the support, collaboration, and encouragement I’ve received from many amazing individuals along the way, to include the awesome ESCA members”, shared Chuck.

Chuck will be formally recognized during the upcoming ESCA Winter Celebration & Awards on December 15, 2024, at the Majestic Downtown in Los Angeles, California.
