The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) has committed to remain in Atlanta through 2036, extending one of the city’s longest-running tradeshow relationships.
IPPE commits to Atlanta
Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) announced the commitment July 20 after a signing event at U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) headquarters in Atlanta.
IPPE is sponsored by USPOULTRY, the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), and the Meat Institute. The event brings together the poultry and egg, meat, and animal food industries.
The next IPPE is scheduled for Jan. 26 through Jan. 28, 2027, in Atlanta.
Show history dates to 1948
The event began in Atlanta in 1948 as a small convention with 200 attendees at the Ansley Hotel. Since then, it has grown into one of the city’s largest annual business tradeshows.
IPPE now draws more than 32,500 participants each year, including attendees from more than 115 countries.
The show also has a long history with Georgia World Congress Center. According to the release, IPPE was the first convention hosted at the center in 1977, one year after the building opened.
Partnership supports citywide business
Charlene Lopez, executive vice president and chief sales officer at ACVB, says IPPE’s long-term commitment adds value for Atlanta’s hospitality community.
Nath Morris, president of USPOULTRY, says Atlanta has hosted the International Poultry Expo for 78 years. He also notes that the show expanded through partnerships with AFIA in 2007 and the Meat Institute in 2013.
Morris says USPOULTRY looks forward to new development around the Georgia World Congress Center campus, including more hotel, dining, and entertainment options for exhibitors and attendees.
