Legends Global Mesa Convention Center Management Deal

Legends Global will manage Mesa Convention Center and Mesa Amphitheatre under a five-year agreement with the City of Mesa, Arizona, overseeing operations, marketing, and strategy for both downtown facilities.

The city will retain ownership of the venues. Announced Oct. 15, the agreement also calls for Legends Global to work with Mesa on an upgrade schedule for the amphitheater. The announcement did not disclose financial terms, a management start date, or a budget for improvements.

NEW MANAGEMENT, CITY OWNERSHIP

Mesa Convention Center offers nearly 40,000 square feet of indoor meeting and exhibit space, including a 19,000-square-foot main exhibit hall and 26 breakout rooms. It also has 40,000 square feet of outdoor function space.

According to the announcement, the convention center hosts more than 300 functions annually, including conventions, tradeshows, banquets, and community gatherings. Legends Global plans to focus on service and event operations while supporting the city’s efforts to attract additional business.

The adjacent Mesa Amphitheatre, built in the late 1970s, accommodates approximately 5,000 guests. Planned improvements will focus on revenue potential, service, and the experience for performers and attendees, although specific projects remain unannounced.

A REGIONAL NETWORK CONNECTION

The agreement gives Mesa access to Legends Global’s venue network and booking resources. The company already operates State Farm Stadium and Desert Diamond Arena in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

“Our goal is to expand the quantity, quality and diversity of the entertainment we bring to Mesa, which speaks to all segments of the Mesa community,” said Josh Kritzler, president, North American Venues & Content, Legends Global. “We want residents and the broader region to feel a sense of connection to and pride in both the convention center and the amphitheater.”

Legends Global’s convention center portfolio also includes Moscone Center in San Francisco, Colorado Convention Center in Denver, and Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
