Over 50 members of The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) attended a virtual AGM to outline the association’s ambitious plans for the upcoming year. Set for a successful year with six additions to the Executive Board, ABPCO will build on a strong past year and include growth across all areas of the association’s offering. The plans will create significant opportunities for advancement of the UK’s only association dedicated to the organizers of association conferences and events.
The new board members are Madalina Marincas of Opening Doors and Venues, Katie Bolton of MCI UK, Sarvjit Wunsch of the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Sammy Connell of NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union, Sarah Vaughan of The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, and Kate Sargent of Bioscientifica Ltd.
The new board members bring a wealth of expertise and fresh perspectives to ABPCO, ensuring continued progress and long-term success for the association.
Chairs Sarah Byrne and Emma Duffy expressed ABPCO’s thanks to the following departing board members. Past co-chair Barbara Calderwood of MCI UK, past co-chair Michael Smith of CBI, outgoing treasurer Martin Linfield of James Hallam, David Parker of the Royal College of Physicians, and Laura Wilson of Speakeasy. Each played integral roles in the association’s growth and achievements over the last few years.
Incoming board member Kate Sargent will succeed Linfield as treasurer.
“As these dedicated individuals join ABPCO’s executive board, the association looks ahead to another successful year, driven by the passion of our members,” concludes ABPCO Association Director Heather Lishman. “We look forward to capitalizing on past achievements and embracing new opportunities for growth, innovation, and professional development.”
