ACME changes name to better reflect member roles and mission

The Association for Convention Sales and Marketing Executives (ACME) has announced a new strategic direction to better represent the spirit of collaborative success between destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and convention center sales and marketing professionals.

ACME will now be known as Convention Sales Professionals International (CSPI), a name more inclusive of the various roles of members. The new CSPI logo illustrates the integral partnerships of DMOs and convention centers through interlocking puzzle pieces. In addition to a new name and logo, the association has launched a new association website (www.cspionline.org), a new member newsletter and a host of external and internal marketing and communications programs to provide a voice for this industry and keep members informed and engaged.

With the launch of the new brand and name, the organization is demonstrating an increased focus on enhancing the collaboration between members through education, best practice development and by tracking industry trends worldwide.

“What our members say time and time again is that they cannot get the specialized education and networking opportunities our association provides anywhere else,” said Yulita Osuba, CSPI President. “Through the new brand, we’ve opened up this opportunity to professionals at all levels—not just executives—and we as an organization will be better positioned to facilitate the key relationships between DMOs and convention centers for the future generation of this industry.”
