AIBTM’s 2013 ‘Future Events Experience’ features TECHbar discussion

Officials for the Americas Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) have partnered with The Meeting Pool to provide meetings and events industry professionals with insights on the best and most efficient use of technology.

The TECHbar will held at the Future Events Experience on the AIBTM show floor at McCormick Place in Chicago June 12 – 13.

“There is so much technology available to us today and of course, more innovations on aibtm_logothe horizon. That is why it is important for the AIBTM to provide a platform to share ideas and evaluate how they will impact us in our day-to-day jobs,” said Michael Lyons, exhibition director, AIBTM.

The TECHbar is the brainchild of The Meeting Pool, a new events industry technology “decision engine” and information portal, and is designed to work in concert with the components of the Future Events Experience area to function as a learning center for the AIBTM. Whether a beginner discerning how to maximize smartphone features or a tech-savvy planner leveraging interactive audience response systems, the TECHbar will serve as a magnet for every attendee’s tech curiosities.

“The TECHbar is our way of personalizing the event technology learning experience for every AIBTM attendee,” said Dahlia El Gazzar, founder and CEO, The Meeting Pool.  “This opportunity to cover a wide variety topics – from iPads to enterprise applications – is the kind of attention that technology is beginning to draw at industry events, and it is wonderfully complementary to what we’re doing online with The Meeting Pool.  We’re very proud to partner with AIBTM to bring this in-depth, interactive experience to the event.”

The Future Events Experience area is dedicated to innovative thinking and will provide attendees with exclusive access to pioneers in event technology and focused discussion on the adoption of new solutions and how to utilize them.

On the Innovation Spotlight Stage, more than 20 Future Events Experience presentations will address timely topics, including:

•    Content Marketing,
•    Next-gen Mobile apps,
•    Attendee Engagement,
•    Crowdsourcing for events,
•    Tablet and mobile devices; and,
•    Futuristic tech trends that will influence events.

Event professionals are invited to experience the latest and most innovative products at the “New Events Solutions” area. Demos and hands-on interactive sessions will be taking place during show floor hours.

“Technology is perhaps the most integral component to the future of our industry,” said Lyons. “At this year’s AIBTM, we will examine and discover the best practices of the industry’s technology together so that we all can leverage these new tools to our advantage for better business results.”

The AIBTM is a leading global exhibition for the U.S. meetings and events industry and delivers individually qualified hosted buyers and eligible trade buyers from the U.S. and around the world. Tailored to the U.S. market, the AIBTM serves and guarantees the attendance of top-level decision-makers.
