Atlanta to host International Woodworking Fair through 2018

International Woodworking Fair, LLC, (IWF) selected Atlanta as its host city through 2018. IWF signed the commitment with Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) to ensure the biennial show, hosted in Atlanta since 1992, continues to grow and succeed in one of the nation’s top convention cities.

“We are enthusiastic about the next three IWF shows. Atlanta is a strong transportation hub and destination,” said Richard Hannigan, chairman, IWF 2014. “We have strong relationships within the Atlanta hospitality community, and our demographics are strong on the East Coast.”

In 2012, Trade Show Executive named IWF one of the 50 fastest growing shows in the U.S. IWF 2012 saw a 14 percent increase in attendance over the 2010 show. IWF’s next show will take place Aug. 20-23, 2014, at the Georgia World Congress Center, and is expecting double-digit percentage growth in attendance.

“We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with IWF,” said William Pate, president and CEO, ACVB. “IWF is a great example of a tradeshow that continues to grow its global reach and attendance. With an airport that services 75 international destinations, Atlanta is a great host for international shows like IWF.”

Sponsored by the Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers of America and Woodworking Machinery Industry Association, IWF serves buyers from large production companies to small professional shops in a wide range of furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries.

Celebrating 100 years of hospitality, ACVB is a private, nonprofit organization created to favorably impact the Atlanta economy through conventions and tourism.
