The Lakam Center in Cancun can accomodate large events.

With 242,000 square feet of indoor surface space that can accommodate more than 15,000 guests, Lakam Center is considered one of the largest meeting venues in Latin America and the biggest in Cancun. The venue completed a six-month renovation in December that included new electrical cables, updated air conditioning and remodeled bathrooms.

This exhibition center is located at the 329.5 km mark on the Cancun-Playa del Carmen Highway, which is a short drive from the Cancun International Airport and 15 minutes from Cancun’s hotel zone. This new space offers four modern and versatile buildings that are suitable for large conventions, congresses, sporting events, musical shows and cultural events of international importance. The facility is one of a few Cancun venues able to host large-scale, high-impact events, like the upcoming Flight Center Global Gathering Conference on July 11-15.

The high-tech establishment only will add to Cancun’s already unique and extensive meetings and convention spaces that range from Cancun Center’s more than 700,000 square feet of meeting space to some of the destination’s top resorts. With 145 world-class hotels, which include four AAA five diamond award-winning properties, Cancun can accommodate thousands of guests at a time with more than 34,000 hotel rooms available.

The exhibition center offers parking for 50 trucks and more than 500 vehicles as well as an extensive area for outdoor events. This building was designed to withstand strong hurricane winds, has a sophisticated fire prevention system, private security system and more.

Cancun will be hosting a number of world congresses this year that vary from the annual Mexico Showcase and Travel Expo on April 12 to the International Congress of Developmental Biology on June 17. Cancun continues to improve its offerings year by year and has proved to be a top destination for world leaders, meetings and conventions.

Cancun is located in the northern part of the southeastern Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is Mexico’s number-one tourist destination and is known all over the world for its spectacular beaches, unique beauty and breathtaking turquoise waters.
Cancun’s shoreline recently underwent a $71 million makeover that featured 1.3 billion gallons of sand to renovating the Hotel Zone’s seashore. The most popular tourism destination in Mexico and Latin America has also added to its sun, beach and nightlife, by creating a unique five-day route that will offer visitors a chance to experience adventure and interaction with nature.

Cancun and the Treasures of the Caribbean invite travelers to discover the vast natural, cultural and gastronomical cultures of Puerto Morelos, and the four islands of the Mexican Caribbean: Holbox, Isla Mujeres, Contoy and Cozumel. Cancun is a multifaceted destination that combines nature, historical Mayan Culture, glamour, luxury and world class tourism with the seduction for adventure, the passion for paradisiacal nature and the enchantment of gastronomical magic.
