Carpenters’ union to enjoy expanded Las Vegas training facility

After a year of construction, general contractor PENTA Building Group finalized a $43 million addition to the Las Vegas-based United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Training Center.

Adding 220,000 square feet to the existing training center, PENTA’s 200 employees wrapped up the project exactly one year from when it started in September 2012. The facility now boasts 365,000 square feet.

The finalized project includes more classrooms for training, meeting halls, a store, a museum and display area.

One of the largest trade unions in the U.S., United Brotherhood of Carpenters consists of 500,000 members. Including its Las Vegas facility, the union has more than 200 training centers across North America.
