Chicago Auto Show offers sneak preview for charity

Getting a sneak peak at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place is what 10,000 guests will experience on behalf of charity.

On Feb. 7, guests will sample culinary delights from SAVOR Chicago and selected Chicago-area restaurants as part of the show’s First Look for Charity.

SAVOR, part of SMG, is a food and beverage provider at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

Tickets are $250 and proceeds will benefit Chicago-area charities. Meanwhile, the show opens to the general public from Feb. 8-17.

Some of the preparations include 80,000 individual servings, 18,000 beers, 14,000 wine glasses and much more.

This is the 23rd year for this event, which raises about $2 million for 18 local charities, according to Connie Chambers, general manager, SAVOR Chicago. First Look for Charity is one of Chicago’s largest charity events.

“Every year, our team is excited for the First Look for Charity,” said Chambers. “It is our chance to help raise money for local charities while we treat more 10,000 members of our community. It is an honor to be part of this event.”

This year’s event will even have an Olympic theme to the party and catering stations.
