The marketing manager position was filled at the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau, which works to bring outside visitors, meetings and conventions to the area.

Executing a variety of the CVB’s special events and activities is Danielle Sparavalo. She will also use social media and e-marketing platforms in conjunction with other media to market the Chicago Southland as a unique, convenient and affordable destination.

“Danielle is a great addition to our marketing and communications team,” said Jim Garrett, president and CEO, Chicago Southland CVB. “Her passion and experience will allow our marketing programs to take the next step and attract more visitors to the Chicago Southland.”

Sparavalo worked in a variety of marketing and communications positions, including marketing coordinator at Lisa Grant Orthodontics in Homewood, Ill., and media research editor with Cision, a public relations services firm in Chicago.

“I look forward to increasing engagement and reach with potential visitors through all of our social media channels,” said Sparavalo. “With such a great variety of attractions, festivals, restaurants and hotels, we have an incredible destination for all types of visitors.”

She graduated from Purdue University Calumet, Hammond, Ind., with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.
