CMR renews agreement with San Francisco Travel

Holding meetings or conventions in San Francisco offers many benefits beyond the great restaurants, cultural happenings and bustling energy of the city.

The San Francisco Travel Association provides several tools for meeting planners to organize and promote their event, including San Francisco Travel Convention Housing – Powered by CMR.

Convention Management Resources (CMR), headquartered in San Francisco, has provided Convention Housing Services to San Francisco Travel events since 2012. Effective July 1, that partnership has been extended into 2018.

San Francisco Travel Convention Housing Services delivers a customized experience based on CMR’s local expertise and provides international group coordination, an on-site housing desk, and audits for room block credit, among many other benefits.

Events that have reaped the rewards of this service over the past few years include the Design Automation Conference (DAC), American Society for Human Genetics (ASHG) Annual Meeting, Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Annual Conference, and MPI’s 2015 World Education Congress (WEC).

MPI WEC, scheduled to take place Aug. 1-4 at the Moscone Center, has been working with CMR throughout the year to manage their housing block and promote the official event hotels to their registrants.

Matthew Marcial, senior director of events, MPI, said, “We have had a great experience working with CMR over the past few months in preparation for WEC 2015. They have a strong professional team in place and regularly provide timely and accurate reporting, which has been critical to our strategic planning process.”

Kathryn Horton, San Francisco Travel’s vice president of convention services and events, said, “Renewing this partnership was an easy decision because CMR provides an excellent seamless reservation service for meeting planners, attendees, and hotels. They are also located in San Francisco so they have expert knowledge and great relationships with all the hotels.”

In return for using San Francisco Travel Convention Housing – Powered by CMR, groups will be able to select from a bevy of meeting enhancements and marketing services.
