Cobb CVB names new CEO

holly-bassThe Cobb Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently announced that Holly Bass has been named the CEO for the organization.

“We are excited to have Holly as a member of the CVB team,” said Don Geiger, chairman of the Cobb CVB. “Her strong leadership, consensus building and strategic planning, combined with her community knowledge, will position the CVB for success. We believe that under Holly’s direction we will be able to serve our community and industry better than ever before and increase the Bureau’s economic impact.”

As CEO, Bass will manage a staff of eight and a budget of nearly $1.2 million. Additionally, Bass will be responsible for developing and executing effective marketing and sales strategies, as well as providing strategic leadership and oversight of the CVB in all aspects of its operations.

“I look forward to working closely with the hospitality and tourism industry to bring more visitors, meetings and events to Cobb,” said Bass. “Tourism, as an economic development engine, is critical to our community’s continued success, and the Cobb CVB has an important and positive role in promoting and securing that activity throughout our county. I am excited about the opportunities that are ahead.”

The Cobb CVB is responsible for promoting and generating tourism, convention, tradeshow and sports development activity throughout Cobb. Bringing more than $1.25 billion dollars in economic impact to Cobb each year, tourism is the county’s second leading industry.

Previously, Bass has worked for the Cobb Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, most recently holding the position of chief operating officer. Since March, through a strategic partnership with the Cobb Chamber, Bass has been a loaned executive with the CVB holding the position of interim CEO while continuing to serve as COO for the Chamber.
