Colorado Convention Center extends technology contract with Smart City Networks

Colorado Convention Center (CCC) renewed its contract with Smart City Networks, an event technology provider, for up to six years.

“Smart City has been our longtime valued partner providing robust technology solutions to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to the Colorado Convention Center every year, ensuring that they have the Internet connectivity they expect and demand,” said John Adams, general manager, Colorado Convention Center. “Smart City’s expert technical service and dedicated customer service ensures that our events are a success and has enabled our facility to market our technology capabilities as a valued amenity.”

To upgrade CCC’s Wi-Fi network, Smart City Networks plans to double the capacity of the existing wireless network by adding wireless controllers, edge switches and additional access points. This will allow more people and devices to connect to the Wi-Fi network simultaneously. Free Wi-Fi service will also be available at street level in all common spaces and meeting rooms.

“Meeting the growing technology needs of the event industry, as well as the connectivity requirements of its attendees, remains our No. 1 priority,” said Mark Haley, president, Smart City Networks. “We’re proud of the confidence that the Colorado Convention Center has in our capabilities and services. We look forward to continuing to serve the facility as its technology partner.”

Smart City Networks will provide high-speed Internet access using Ethernet protocols to all exhibit spaces and meeting rooms, and turnkey data networking services, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks using the latest technology.
