The new Conference Center at Lake Placid welcomed its first meeting group on May 11th as 600 attendees from the Child Passenger Safety group arrived for a three-day conference.
A longtime Adirondack Mountain destination, Lake Placid has hosted world class events, including two Olympic Winter Games, intimate meetings and visitors seeking to invent their own perfect day for over 100 years.
The Center was designed with the community’s room stock and amenities, its location in the Adirondacks and the needs of the meeting market in mind. It is equipped with flexible meeting space, soundproof walls and all of the audio visual technological equipment and connections necessary to conduct a business meeting.
The Conference Center at Lake Placid features a balance of eco-technology that keeps energy costs to a minimum, while maximizing access to the views of the Adirondacks.
Construction on the center adhered to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) criteria and incorporated optimized energy performance, renewable, recycled materials and natural daylight.
The Lake Placid community can now accommodate groups who are looking for a traditional convention center. The Herb Brooks 1980 Arena and the Jack Shea 1932 Arena are connected to the Conference Center, and each offers 20,000 square feet of space for a variety of large-scale tradeshows, food and beverage functions, and events.
The Conference Center will offer over 90,000 square feet of flexible meeting and exhibition space, with a total of 12 breakout rooms available for concurrent sessions, a 9,000 square foot ballroom and a full service production kitchen.
