Conventa, the Southeast European exhibition for meetings, events and incentives to be held from Jan. 22-23, 2014, will help put Southeast Europe on the meeting industry’s map by introducing the region and its meetings offer to around 250 international meeting planners. The sixth edition of the show will present a lot of novelties when it comes to Southeast Europe, including new meetings offer, better flight accessibility and new familiarization (fam) trip programs that will offer meeting planners the possibility to experience the region firsthand.
“As a professional meeting planner I’m being continuously asked for something different, value-centered, no boring meetings with supplier-partners who are flexible and who want to do business,” said Patrick Delaney, managing director, Ovation Global DMC. “I firmly believe that Southeast Europe can provide answers to many of these needs. Go there and check it out.”
Compared to past shows, hosted buyers attending the sixth edition of Conventa will spend an extra night in the host city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and thus have the opportunity to familiarize themselves better with the destination and providers of meeting industry services from Southeast European region. Their Conventa journey will start and finish with fam trips. Visitors will have the opportunity to personally check the meetings offer of Ljubljana, Bled, Zagreb, Carinthia and the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Meeting planners attending Conventa will return to their offices with a better understanding of the potential to host meetings, events, congresses and incentives in Southeast Europe. Conventa’s goal will be accomplished when meeting planners present the region to their clients and persuade them to organize their next event.
Expanding its resources, the region will soon be rich in flight connections. At the end of October, a new Serbian national carrier, Air Serbia, added 12 direct flight connections to a good list of flights to and from Serbia. National airline of Slovenia, Adria Airways, is also planning for new connections in 2014 and the near future.
