CRSI Names Matthew Shergalis as Northeast Region Manager

The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute is pleased to announce the addition of Matthew Shergalis, PE, as its new Northeast Region Manager as of June 10.

Shergalis has a decade of engineering and architect/engineer/contractor marketing experience, which includes a strong emphasis on business development. With his office located in Indianapolis, he will utilize his diverse expertise in his promotion of reinforced concrete primarily in the Northeastern United States.

“I am so pleased to have Matt join our team of region managers,” says Danielle Kleinhans, president and CEO of CRSI. “His knowledge of the region and past experience in a similar role foster his ability to impactfully promote steel reinforced concrete construction from day one.”

In previous roles, Shergalis served as a structural engineer at TLF Engineers, where his projects included an office building expansion, a university athletic facility renovation and a crane system for industrial usage. He also served as the regional director of the National Steel Bridge Alliance, where he was responsible for the execution of market strategy across 15 states in the Great Lakes and Northeast U.S. He was also a principal at the Infrastructure Advisory Group, LLC, where he assisted organizations in the development of strategic marketing campaigns for the launch of new products, established targeted messaging to customer identified needs, among other skills. He has also worked with national organizations including the Federal Highway Administration, the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials and State Departments of Transportation, in the development of technical resources.

Shergalis received a Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering from Trine University. He also obtained a MBA from Butler University.

Founded in 1924, the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute is a technical institute and Standards Developing Organization that stands as the authoritative resource for steel reinforced concrete construction. Among the Nation’s oldest trade associations, CRSI offers many industry-trusted technical publications, standards documents, design aids, reference materials and educational opportunities. CRSI’s members represent over 80 percent of the U.S. manufacturers, fabricators and placers of steel reinforcing bar and related products with more than 600 locations in 49 states, and with 15,000+ employees. Members produce, fabricate and install approximately 9 million ton of reinforcing steel per year using scrap steel in efficient manufacturing operations. It is estimated that the industry impacts more than 75,000 people in steel transportation and placement in North America. The CRSI membership also includes professionals across the country who are involved in the research, design, and construction of steel reinforced concrete. CRSI staff comprises a nationwide region network of industry professionals. For more info, visit crsi.org
