The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) says five concurrent August fairs drew more than 520,000 public visits, setting a record for the event series.
The Food Expo, Beauty & Wellness Expo, Home Delights Expo, Food Expo PRO, and Hong Kong International Tea Fair brought together more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions. Meanwhile, Food Expo PRO and the Tea Fair attracted about 20,000 buyers from 64 countries and regions.
Record turnout and buyer activity
HKTDC reported average visitor spending of HK$1,685, also a record. In a survey of more than 1,430 visitors, 87 percent said their actual spending matched or exceeded their planned budgets.
Health and wellness products drew strong interest. More than 80 percent of surveyed visitors expressed interest in the category, including functional foods, supplements, and wellness products.
The shows also generated sizable business activity. A Chinese Mainland agricultural matchmaking event recorded more than HK$1.8 billion in intended transactions.
In addition, the Korea Pavilion expanded by 40 percent this year and included more than 130 exhibitors, making it the largest overseas pavilion at Food Expo PRO.

Trade exhibitors report new business
Several exhibitors reported substantial buyer interest during the shows.
IXON Food Technology said it received inquiries from more than 200 buyers on the first day of Food Expo PRO, with potential business valued between US$500,000 and US$1.3 million.
At the Hong Kong International Tea Fair, the Tea Board of Kenya led nine companies exhibiting at the show. The board said potential deals across the group exceeded US$10 million.
The Tea Fair also introduced a Chinese Mainland Matcha Pavilion. Organizers said buyers from Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States expressed interest in matcha powder and equipment.
Meanwhile, more than 130 suppliers showcased halal food products across Food Expo PRO and Food Expo. The category returned for the third consecutive year.

Hybrid platform extends business beyond show floor
Food Expo PRO and the Hong Kong International Tea Fair continued using HKTDC’s EXHIBITION+ hybrid model. The system allows exhibitors and buyers to continue online meetings after the physical fairs.
Online negotiations through the Click2Match platform remain available through Aug. 22.
