Destination Colorado, a member-based association that caters to meeting planners and incentive buyers by bringing group business to Colorado, is pleased to announce its Peak Performer of the Year award winners for 2017. Brady Johnson of C Lazy U Ranch is recognized as this year’s Individual of the Year, and Ameristar Casino Resort Spa is recognized as this year’s Member of the Year. These honors were awarded at Destination Colorado’s Annual Meeting on Dec. 6 at The Stanley Marketplace in Aurora, CO. Destination Colorado’s Peak Performer of the Year awards are given to members in recognition of their leadership and commitment to promoting the meeting and group industry on behalf of the entire state of Colorado.
Destination Colorado was honored to present its 2017 Peak Performer Individual of the Year to Brady Johnson, director of sales and marketing at C Lazy U Ranch. Johnson (pictured center right flanked by Sharon Freeark and Bob Haddad, Colorado Meetings + Events) has been instrumental in providing guidance and serving as the face of Destination Colorado at trade shows and events including IMEX America, membership meetings, the Texas Road Show, and the Front Range Trade Show. He has also participated at Customer Appreciation Events and in many other Destination Colorado initiatives.
“Brady is smart, engaged, knowledgeable, creative, and really fun to work with,” says Destination Colorado Executive Director Janie McCullough. “On top of that, he gets things done and is always the consummate professional. Sometimes it is those quiet and unassuming individuals that make the largest impacts to an association through thoughtful input and dedication.”
Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in Blackhawk, the Company of the Year winner, offers one of Colorado’s most luxurious meetings facilities, surrounded by a beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop. And there is a little “gaming fun” served on the side. Ameristar was host to this year’s Destination Colorado Town Hall, providing accommodations, lunch, unique meeting space and special surprises for over 70 suppliers and meeting planners. Where else can you go up 20+ floors to a roof-top pool deck surrounded by magnificent scenery for a champagne toast?
“The Ameristar team takes initiative and knows how to help without ever being asked,” says McCullough. “They demonstrate exemplary support and enthusiasm for our association. Destination Colorado would not be the association it is today without dedicated companies like Ameristar. It truly takes a village, and Ameristar is a real industry leader.”
