The Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) has announced that, with the launch of a new streamlined empowerMINT.com, professionals have a convenient way to connect with destination marketing Organizations (DMOs). DMOs are also known as Convention and Visitor Bureaus or CVBs.
www.empowerMINT.com enables planners in their initial stages of research to compare destination profiles complete with conference hotels, convention facilities, DMO services, destination map and contact information of destination experts. New features include empowerMINT.com’s QuickRequest, which enables meeting planners to upload any document such as an RFP and pose a question to any and all DMOs they select in one easy step.
Additionally, a planner-friendly map for each destination quickly helps ascertain the location and proximity of meeting venues. This customized Google map, developed with input from members of the Salt Lake CVB Customer Advisory Board, uniquely contains hotel locations with total meeting space and guest rooms illustrated and proximities to the convention venues and airports.
“DMOs/CVBs are a great, free resource to help planners more easily find the right fit for any size meeting,” said Christine Shimasaki, managing director, empowerMINT.com. “The goal of empowerMINT.com is to make it easier for meeting professionals to connect with the experts in destinations under consideration and take advantage of a wide range of DMO services including arranging site inspections, checking hotel and meeting space availability, and linking planners to expert local service providers.”
Momentum has been building on www.empowerMINT.com over the past year. Due to an aggressive integrated marketing campaign, unique visitors to the site have increased 67 percent, and the number of pages viewed are up 60 percent compared to the same time period last year. Monthly empowerMINT webinars, covering a broad range of information aimed at executing great meetings, are attracting between 150-550 depending on the topic.
