DMAI names destination marketing professional as new EVP/COO

Victoria IsleyDestination Marketing Association International (DMAI) has named a new executive vice president. The new professional will build new initiatives throughout the company.


Victoria Isley, the new EVP/COO, brings nearly 17 years of destination marketing experience in small, medium and large DMOs to the association.

“The addition of Victoria to DMAI’s leadership really demonstrates our commitment to the future of this industry,” said Michael Gehrisch, president and CEO of DMAI. “Her strategic approach, stellar reputation and extensive destination marketing experience make her an ideal fit for this important role. She brings a seasoned industry perspective to the needs of and opportunities for our membership.”

Isley will help build and implement the organization’s overall strategic initiatives as well as oversee the marketing and communications department, membership and business development, and professional development and meetings.

“DMAI has been an important asset to me in my career,” said Isley. “I believe there are even greater opportunities for DMAI ahead, and am looking forward to contributing to its future success.”

As senior vice president of marketing and communications at Destination DC since 2001, Isley led a new brand strategy for the nation’s capital, built research and strategy for organizational advocacy, and spearheaded crisis communications. Prior to her tenure at Destination DC, Isley served as vice president of marketing for the Tampa Bay and Company and she also served as the director of communications for the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Isley holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has earned her Professional in Destination Management certificate. She is currently a member of Destination Marketing Association International, a past research chairman for U.S. Travel Association, a past board member of the Public Relations Society of America Travel & Tourism Section, and an associate member of the Society of American Travel Writers.
