Employees from e4 Design, a full service exhibit and three-dimensional marketing company, joined 125 volunteers on May 13 to help with the AEC Cares Event in Atlanta. This year, the event took place at the Covenant House, a homeless shelter for youth on the west side of the city.
Each year, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) teams up with AEC Cares for a one-day event to help rebuild and renovate homes and facilities in the cities hosting the AIA Annual Convention.
The Covenant House was chosen for renovation at this year’s event. Once an elementary school serving the Atlanta Public School System, the house needed both interior and exterior improvements. From sorting jeans to painting walls, the volunteers were able to complete in one day what would normally take weeks.
e4 Design was invited to participate in the AEC Cares Project by their client and strategic partner CMD Group. Utilizing in-house capabilities and creativity provided by Ed and Shawn Alshut of Studio A2, e4 Design produced and mounted 13 graphics that were donated to the Covenant House to use as inspirational artwork. Each piece was designed with a youthful “pop” and printed with precise touch, bringing a vivacious spark to the halls and rooms of the building.
