The Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA) and the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) have joined forces in a groundbreaking partnership aimed at fostering global collaboration and knowledge sharing within the events industry.
Recognizing the vital role that cross-border partnerships play in driving the future success and growth of the global events sector, ECA and IFES are set to pool their resources to address common challenges, engage in educational initiatives, and advocate for the industry. This collaboration signifies a powerful commitment to serving the broader community by combining efforts and expertise.
IFES President, Phillipe Beille, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with the Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA) is poised to make a real difference. ECA understands the profound impact of trade shows on not only the business events industry but also communities and the global economy. Together, we will amplify our voice to raise awareness about the exhibition and events industry. We believe in the strength of collaboration, and partnerships like this one can help more people recognize the value of our industry. We’re eager to see the positive impact this partnership will have and how it will contribute to making a more significant difference.”
IFES Executive Director, Uta Goretzky, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the potential for collaboration in advocacy and practical matters in the American market. “Drawing from the success of our collaboration with EEIA (European Exhibition Industry Alliance), where all European exhibition bodies are aligned, we look forward to working with ECA to strengthen our voice and share knowledge,” Goretzky said.
Tommy Goodwin, ECA Vice President, highlighted the global nature of the challenges facing the business events industry. He said, “From advancing sustainability and attracting our next-generation workforce to harnessing new technology and making international commerce more seamless, the challenges are global and will require global solutions. ECA eagerly anticipates collaborating with IFES and its international members to share best practices and identify solutions that can be presented to policymakers in support of the industry’s advancement worldwide.”
