EDPA Las Vegas Chapter First Networking Event of the Year

by Marlena Sullivan, Exhibit City News

On Tuesday, February 20th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, EDPA’s Las Vegas Chapter will be hosting their February mixer. The event will be held at ReBar+Daveys.

This will be the Las Vegas Chapter’s first event of the year. Additionally, this marks the first event for Gayle Wright as the new president of the EDPA Las Vegas Chapter. She says, “Settling into my role at EDPA has been a positive experience, thanks largely to the support of Mike Sunseri, the former President of the LV Chapter. Mike’s guidance has been crucial during this transition. I’m still learning, but with each day, things become clearer. The strength of our board has been a key factor in this smooth transition. Angie Johnson, our Vice President, is exceptional at promoting our events. Her reliability and teamwork in planning numerous events last year have made our collaboration seamless. We’ve also welcomed Michele Rodriguez as our Secretary for 2024. Michele’s active involvement in connecting high schools with the tradeshow industry and bridging the gap with the Future Workforce is invaluable. Jen LaBruzza, our Treasurer, is another integral part of our team. Her meticulous management of our chapter’s finances and her support for Women in Exhibitions are commendable. It’s the collective effort of like-minded individuals that forms an outstanding team.”

This team has many additional plans for the year, including collaboration with the Southern California Chapter. “The Las Vegas chapter is collaborating again with SoCal to host the 2nd Annual Hockey Tournament on April 25th at City National Arena. Bill Hinchliff, the President of SoCal, is leading the charge in bringing industry hockey players together,” Wright tells Exhibit City News, “Meanwhile, Angie and I are focusing on organizing the event’s activities, which include networking, games, food, and beverages.”

There will be more details about the hockey event in the coming weeks. Along with collaborative events with our neighbor state, Las Vegas Chapter members can expect a number of events throughout the year. Wright says, “This year, the EDPA Las Vegas Chapter is gearing up for an active and growth-oriented year. A major focus for us in 2024 is the Future Workforce initiative. This initiative aims to expand the talent pool in the events industry by sparking interest in its varied job and career opportunities at the student level. Additionally, responding to our members’ requests, we are putting extra emphasis on organizing more networking events. Our first event of the year is scheduled for February 20th at Rebar in Downtown Las Vegas, and we’re looking forward to a great turnout and interaction.”

Come join your industry friends for the first EDPA Las Vegas networking event of 2024.
