This year, the Challenge will have a similar format as years past but with higher pay outs for the scholarship prizes. The chapter put together an RFP and challenged the region’s top creative personalities to present a design driven solution, along with Harrington College of Design.

Participating in the challenge is Joe Connelly, owner and lead designer for Connelly Design, and Jacqueline Hake, creative director for Lighthouse Exhibits.

Connelly formed his company in 2007. Connelly Design is a freelance design firm that specializes in exhibit, retail, point of sale and museum design. The company has also been involved with several murals, interior designs, and even custom miniature models. The best part of Connelly Design for him is that every project is unique, whether it’s for medical, manufacturing, technology, etc. he learns about a new company every day. Also, every project’s needs are varied- islands, in-lines, portables, permanent. Connelly Design has done it all for companies such as Siemens, Puma Cobra Golf, Mitsubishi, Motorola, GM, and Okuma.

Hake ensures that every aspect of the tradeshow experience matches the message and visual language of each clients’ brand. She manages the development of graphics and produces detailed 3-D models of exhibit designs. Hake mastered her trade while working at a large exhibit house designing for clients, such as Bosch, Ford, Subaru, Patron, and Electrolux. In addition to her work at Lighthouse Exhibits, Hake stays current on the latest trends in marketing and design.
