In naming a new chief, the Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA), an international trade association representing engaged in the design, manufacture, transport, installation and service of displays and exhibits primarily for the exhibition and event industry, chose a long-time industry veteran.
Jay Burkette
Jay Burkette, a vice president of Birmingham, Ala.-based ExpoDisplays, was named the new president of EDPA.
ExpoDisplays is a full-service exhibit house and portable display manufacturer and distributor. Burkette started his exhibit career there in 1984.
Before becoming vice president of sales at ExpoDisplays, he served as a technical/design manager, national sales manager and director of dealer development.
Burkette is involved within the industry sitting on exhibit advisory committees for EXHIBITOR Show, Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association (HCEA) and The Trade Show Exhibitor’s Association’s (TSEA) annual TS2, the tradeshow about tradeshows, along with serving on EDPA membership and educational committees prior to serving on the EDPA executive board.
Currently residing in Tampa, Fla., he enjoys sailing, boating, biking, artistic glasswork and fishing.
