Learning about exhibit storytelling, tackling sustainability challenges, experiencing new design trends and making new connections is the aim of the June 11 roadshow and cocktail reception hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) in Philadelphia.
The roadshow is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Philadelphia University with addresses to be delivered by Brenda Cowan, chair of Graduate Exhibition Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology – SUNY, and Tom Bowman, an expert on climate change and sustainability. Cowan will discuss storytelling in exhibition design while Bowman will tackle sustainability issues during a down economy.
Following the roadshow is a free reception from 4 p.m. to 7 at the DEC Center at Philadelphia University. The university has an award-winning, sustainable campus and is home to the College of Architecture and the Built Environment, which is a “unique and inspirational location to meet and network with exhibit industry colleagues,” according to officials for the EDPA’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Projects by students focused on various fields of design will be displayed. Roadshow attendance is not required to attend the reception.
The DEC Center on the Philadelphia University campus is located at 4201 Henry Ave. in Philadelphia.
