Ernest N. Morial Convention Center appoints new sales manager

Denece LabordeThe New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO) has named a new sales manager. In this role, the new employee is responsible for developing and servicing clients in the national corporate and Southeast association sales accounts.

Denece Laborde will also manage the social, military, education, religious and fraternal (SMERF) markets for the center. She also works closely with the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau on prospects to generate business for the MCCNO.

Laborde started her hospitality career in New Orleans and has recently returned home from Atlanta, Ga., where she served as an account executive at Freeman. During her three-year tenure, she managed and maintained Atlanta’s number one account, providing over $5 million in revenue annually. Prior to her work at Freeman, Laborde was a senior corporate account manager at Hotels.com for six years. Among her accomplishments there, she was the recipient of the Travel Horizon Award for being in the top 1 percent revenue producers for the company.  She brings over 20 years of hospitality knowledge and experience to the MCCNO team.

A graduate of University of New Orleans, Laborde received a degree in Business Administration. She maintains an active presence in professional organizations including Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
