Event Production Show 2014 seeks event professionals for student competition

ESP, a recruitment agency for the event industry, is looking for event professionals to volunteer as “Nicks and Karrens” for this year’s Eventice competition during the Events Production Show in London from Feb. 11-12.

Now in its fourth year, the Apprentice-style competition is designed to find and bring the next generation of talent into the events industry.

Competing in a variety of challenges, the finalists will vie for a chance to secure a job with either global experiential agency George P Johnson or award winning team-building agency the Bluehat Group.

Shadowing the finalists as part of the competition, the Nicks and Karrens will give feedback to the potential employers.

“Previous Nicks and Karrens include Nis Arend, VP [of] Wealth and Investment, Barclays Bank; and Petra Bones, currently Head of Banqueting and Events at Historic Royal Palaces, who both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The tasks usually take anything from an hour to three hours, so it isn’t a massive investment of time and it’s great exposure to emerging talent in the market,” said Liz Sinclair, managing director of recruitment, ESP.
