EWI Worldwide, a global, live communications company, has announced the appointment of a new executive director of strategic markets within its Events Division. The new position will be responsible for delivering life sciences events for pharmaceutical brands around the world.
Agnès Canonica will also spearhead meetings and live communications programs across various industries within the Latin American market.
“Strong operational capabilities in Latin America are essential to delivering integrated programs for our clients,” said Suzanne Wells Miell, president of the company’s events division. “Agnès brings this competence to EWI Worldwide, along with a real passion for the industry and education and an unparalleled work ethic.”
Fluent in three languages, Canonica has nearly 20 years of international expertise in strategic event, meeting and incentive planning, with firsthand experience and intricate knowledge of producing pharmaceutical events throughout Latin America. She is a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and an active speaker on international and life science topics in the meetings industry.
Prior to joining EWI Worldwide, Canonica led global event programs for many brands including Pfizer, Abbott, Takeda and Kraft Foods.

In this role, Canonica will also help develop other types of events including seminar series, developer forums, multi-city tours, award, VIP and incentive programs, sporting and concert events.
