Sam Lippman, producer of the Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum (ECEF), has announced the winners of two scholarships to attend ECEF awarded by the event’s Platinum Sponsor, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).
Manolita Moore is the annual conference director for the Las Vegas, Nev.-based Western Veterinary Conference.
DeVonne Parks is the director of exhibits for the Alexandria, Va.-based Special Libraries Association.
Manolita and DeVonne were selected to receive scholarships by a panel of five exhibition-industry executives.
“We are honored to provide these two rising stars with the opportunity to experience ECEF and network with some of the most influential leaders in our industry,” said Chris Meyer, CEM, CMP, vice president of sales for LVCVA. “The Future Leaders Institute has prepared them well for leadership roles and now ECEF can complement that.”
The scholarships, which provide ECEF registration, transportation and housing, were open to graduates of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Future Leaders Institute.
The new scholarships are part of a celebration in 2011 of ECEF’s 10th anniversary.
“Manolita and DeVonne deserve the recognition the scholarships provide,” said Lippman. “Both their applications demonstrated a firm commitment to the industry and a leader’s grasp of current issues.”
ECEF is a forum for business media and association executives. For one day each year, this invitation-only event gathers 200 leaders of the exhibition and convention industry to focus on fundamental ways to increase revenues and the relevance of their events.
