Experts approve plans for The Meetings Show 2014

Senior members of the meetings industry gathered Feb. 3 for The Meetings Show’s regular advisory board meeting at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (the QEIICC).

“Throughout the intensive workshop, the group examined and critiqued our plan for the 2014 show. They unanimously supported our ideas and fed back a range of additional improvements and suggestions that will allow us to grow The Meetings Show and deliver a fantastic event later this year,” said Steve Knight, event director, The Meetings Show.

Consisting of industry leaders and experts from the buyer and supplier side of the meetings industry, the advisory board is led by Paul Kennedy MBE.

“Once again the advisory board demonstrated the huge value they deliver to The Meetings Show. The group represents the whole industry at a very senior level, and it was a real delight to have their input and insight. Our task now is to take away the huge number of creative ideas they presented to us, distil them and align them with our current plans so we can deliver a knock out show in July 2014,” said Kennedy.

The Meetings Show is a major event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry, organized by Centaur Exhibitions and taking place July 8-10 at Olympia, London.

“I am delighted to continue my role on The Meetings Show’s advisory board. The inaugural event was a tremendous success; I have not heard a single negative comment about the event and expect 2014 to be even better,” said Kerrin McPhee, director of sales, ACC Liverpool. “The Meetings Show team have been working incredibly hard since the close of the 2013 show. I think 2014 will generate some real surprises for the whole industry, particularly association attendees who will have a huge amount to take away from their time on the show floor and through the education program.”

Organized by meeting professionals for meeting professionals, The Meetings Show is focused on a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional education.
