Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park names F&B director

Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, a luxury hotel located in downtown Chicago, named its new director of food and beverage (F&B).

Overseeing all of the hotel’s F&B operations, including two restaurants, a 16,000-square-foot meeting space and 24-hour room service is David Sher.

“David’s unique international experiences bring a wealth of expertise to Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, and we are excited to welcome him to our team,” said Mark Huntley, general manager and regional vice president, Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park.

A 15-year hospitality industry veteran, Sher has experience in all facets of the industry, including operations, management and restaurant conceptualization. In 2010, Sher joined Fairmont as director of F&B at Fairmont Chateau Laurier.

Prior to joining Fairmont, Sher held a variety of positions at luxury hotels and restaurants, including general manager of Olive Leaf Restaurant at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Tel Aviv, Israel; director of banquets at RIHGA Royal Hotel in New York; and concept director of Simply Zoup in Toronto.

Sher graduated from Institut Hotelier “Cesar Ritz” Colleges in Switzerland and has an associate degree in International Hotel Management.
