The German Convention Bureau (GCB) is set to showcase the country’s strong variety of top-notch venues, destinations and services as well as areas of key industry expertise at EIBTM, on Nov. 19-21 in Barcelona. More than 15,000 trade visitors are expected at the show, including decision makers in meetings, incentives, conventions and events as well as travel managers and conference organizers.
As the largest exhibitor attending the show, the Germany booth will feature 65 exhibitors representing the broad spectrum of the country’s offerings from convention centers, event venues and hotels to marketing collaboratives, meeting organizers and event agencies. The GCB has its own space at the booth, serving as a first point of contact for information about Germany as a meetings destination. During the show, the GCB will hold joint press appointments with the German National Tourist Board (GNTB).
Germany’s key areas of industry expertise, which include pharma and healthcare, transportation and logistics, technology and innovation, sustainability and more will be highlighted at the booth. The exhibition will focus on helping international meeting planners learn how they can tap into local expert speakers and research institutes, site visits and other experiences that tie into their industry-specific goals and strategies and help maximize the impact and effectiveness of their meetings.
“In addition to our outstanding meetings infrastructure, a wide variety of venues and a very competitive price/performance ratio, Germany’s expertise in key industries is a central factor in the country’s long-standing ranking as a leading meetings and convention destination,” said Matthias Schultze, managing director, GCB.
Further, Germany’s increasing importance on the international meeting stage will also be part of its presence at EIBTM. From 2006 to 2012, the number of international participants at conferences and events in Germany has increased from 14.3 to 22.1 million, according to the annual Meeting & Event Barometer.
