Giles Douglas appointed as CEO of Nimlok USA

In its 40th year in business, Nimlok announced in April the expansion of its U.S. operations. The company also announced the appointment of Giles Douglas as CEO of Nimlok USA.

The expansion of the U.S. Nimlok business results in a total capacity of 300,000 square feet with 250 full time employees.


“It is our intention to expand the Nimlok product offering and Nimlok Branded distribution extensively,” said Simon Perutz, Nimlok USA president. “We believe our expanded production capability creates the largest, most creative and dedicated group of professionals supplying the exhibit, event and display industry. Giles has a unique ability to lead the business to the next level and we are excited he accepted the opportunity.”

“The Perutz family built the Nimlok business over the last 40 years from a tiny one-room office and production unit in the old vegetable market in London into the thriving business it is today,” Douglas said. “The expansion will greatly expand our ability to serve the Nimlok distribution and further build the Nimlok brand.”

The expanded facility will have unprecedented capabilities including the First ISO 14001:2004 Green Certification in the tradeshow industry as well as welding, bending and fabrication of aluminum tubes, 14 dedicated multiple spindle custome sewing stations, 45 standard fabric structures with 180 standard sizes, 12 dedicated sewing and fitting specialists, multiple station CNC capability for aluminum and wood substrates multiple station thermoforming capability, online preview capability in 10,000-square-foot clear span set-up area, 14 full-time project managers with full CAD capability, extensive line of extruded structural systems, full extrusion cutting, punching, bending and milling capability; over $1.4 million in rental systems and worldwide service and production capabilities.

Graphics capabilities now include six direct-to-fabric and transfer fabric printers with a capacity exceeding 1,500-square-foot per hour, two direct-to-substrate printers for output on multiple extruded, wood and textured surfaces; multiple high-speed banner printers with capacity exceeding 1,000 square feet per hour; six high-resolution ink jet printers; 14 dedicated file prep and graphic customer service professionals and highly competitive turnaround time.
