Growth and improvements seen after 2013 CIBTM

CIBTM, China’s incentives, business travel and meetings exhibition, held Sept. 2-4, saw some 9,402 pre-scheduled business appointments, a 10 percent increase from last year, taking place over the course of the show.

“We have been delighted with the level of business [that] was achieved this year, and we had a great deal of positive feedback from our attendees. This feedback gives us a true indication of how effective the Hosted Buyer program is in generating business for buyers and suppliers from across the globe,” said Jeffrey Xu, project manager, CIBTM and Reed Travel Exhibitions.

The number of exhibitors increased by 17 percent, with the show introducing new and returning brands to the China meetings and incentive industry, including Sri Lanka, Japan National Tourism Organization, Madrid, Czech Tourist Authority – Czech Tourism, Hungarian National Tourist Office, Saint Petersburg Express, JSC and Russian Federation.

“CIBTM had more hotel exhibitors, and the buyers’ quality improved greatly. [The show] allowed us to connect with clients from different countries and regions. Buyers with powerful purchasing power are highlights, making CIBTM a very attractive exhibition to attend,” said Kevin Shi, sales manager, Ramada Beijing North.

This year’s Professional Education program was also considered “a huge success” with a 113 percent increase in attendance over the 20 sessions, which were delivered as part of CIBTM Knowledge, marking an 18 percent increase on sessions delivered at CIBTM 2012. The program featured diverse speakers through partnerships with industry associations, including MPI, SITE, ASAE, ICCA and IAEE.

CIBTM 2014 takes place on 17-19 September 2014. To find out more information visit www.cibtm.com.
