IAEE and NACS collaborate to create new CEM module and program

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events has teamed with the National Association of Consumer Shows (NACS) to create a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity specifically targeted to organizers of business-to-consumer exhibitions and events.

The Work Force Ready Boot Camp is tailored to organizers new to the consumer events sector, while the Consumer Events CEM Module was designed for the more advanced consumer event organizer.

“Working together just made sense,” said IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA. “IAEE’s Public Events Council and NACS have been in discussion since the end of 2013 regarding collaborative opportunities to benefit both organizations’ members on the public event/consumer show side of the industry.”

Once completed, each program will be offered at each organization’s annual meeting.

“Having a public event education module as part of the CEM certification program is a huge step in recognizing consumer events as an integral part of the exhibition industry,” said Bob Morgan, general manager of Dulles Expo Center and 2014 IAEE Public Events Council Chairperson. “The Work Force Ready Boot Camp will provide needed benchmark entry-level education specific to the consumer event industry.”
