The International Live Events Association has announced the recipients of its 2020 Volunteer Awards, which honor leaders and members who have made invaluable contributions to ILEA and the live events industry. The Special Awards were presented during the ILEA 2020 Annual General Meeting on July 29.
“The foundation of ILEA is built on the passion, support, and contributions of our volunteers,” says ILEA International 2019-2020 President Jennifer Trethewey (pictured right), CSEP. “The recipients of our Volunteer Awards embody that spirit of dedication and commitment to our association as well as our entire profession and industry. Congratulations to all of them, and thank you!”
2020 ILEA VOLUNTEER AWARDS RECIPIENTS
J. ROBERT GRAVES PIONEER AWARD: JC York, president, Classic Entertainment and Wise Guys InterACTive—Named for one of ILEA’s founders, the J. Robert Graves Pioneer Award is given to a volunteer who has significantly contributed to the growth and development of the association, not only through his or her creative vision but through determined execution.
KLAUS INKAMP LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Jaclyn Bernstein, president and partner, Empire Force Events Inc.—The Klaus Inkamp Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a well-respected leader who is of high ethical character and who has given selflessly to ILEA and the live events industry for an extended period of time.
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD: Tom Kura, founder and owner, Your Love In Lights—The Volunteer of the Year Award goes to an ILEA volunteer who embodies not only professionalism but also determination. He or she is always available to lend a hand and strives to achieve ILEA’s goals by going beyond the call of duty.
METTLE ATTITUDE AWARD: Kristen Porchia, conference and catering sales manager, MotorCity Casino Hotel—The Mettle Attitude Award is presented annually to the ILEA volunteer who is always willing to contribute, always perseveres, and achieves results against all odds.
