IMEXLive debuts at IMEX America

Following its successful roll-out at IMEX in Frankfurt earlier this year, organizers offered the unique “window into the show” that is known as IMEXLive for IMEX America, a large meetings exhibition, at the Sands Expo, which ends Oct. 17.

IMEXLive, sponsored by BOB.tv, went live on Smart Monday, Oct. 14, and was designed to give those who can’t be at the tradeshow a glimpse of what they might be missing and an opportunity to experience a selection of live show content.

“BOB.tv is pleased to support IMEXLive,” said Tony Lorenz, co-founder and CEO, BOB.tv. “Our partnership with IMEX leverages our respective strengths. Together with IMEX through this industry event, and with our founding partners at BOB.tv, we are all working hard every day to move our industry forward at an important time.”

During its first ever use in May, IMEXLive was viewed by 1,215 visitors who were active on the page for an average of just under seven minutes. Since then, the concept has undergone a number of refinements.

The free online service shared a range of content from various pre-selected IMEX and public social media channels. These included monitored Twitter feeds and YouTube videos together with a selection of video interviews with speakers and industry leaders, plus IMEX America’s daily news headlines produced by CNTV. It also featured a live webcam on the show floor. IMEXLive took place in a pop-up window on the IMEX America website.

“I would especially like to thank the team at BOB.tv whose support has allowed us to offer this great service once again. We remain clear that the function of IMEXLive is to provide a selective glimpse of parts of the show, rather than trying to make it perform as a hybrid event,” said Carina Bauer, CEO, IMEX Group. “The power and importance of doing business face-to-face remains a key value for IMEX, but thanks to IMEXLive we can make great use of social media and the global reach of the Internet to provide a really convenient, added-value service.”

The IMEXLive service will remain online for approximately one week after IMEX America closes, serving as an aggregator of selected video, photo and social content from the show.
